Practice game for Kentucky? I think not! Today's game was a game for memories. Travis Ford, a former guard for the Wildcats early in the 90's. Ford received a standing ovation after his introduction. This game was suppose to have been practice for Kentucky. A blow out if you will, but it was anything but. It became a very sloppy game as kentucky had around 14-17 turnovers in the first half alone.
Dec 5, 2000 KENTUCKY 94 - EASTERN KENTUCKY 79
In the first half the bright spot for Kentucky was Keith Bogans as he drained 3 three pointers. Eric Daniels come off the bench to add a spark for a lack-luster effort by the starters. J.P. Blevins also had a tough time from the perimeter. In the second half the wildcats did have a little more emotion. Kentucky did use the press quite a bit causing Eastern Kentucky to turn the ball over a little more. Saul Smith did play a great game hitting a couple of three pointers in the second half ending up with 17 points and Bogans ending up with 21. Jason Parker was a little disappointing as he only had 3 points and them coming from the free throw line. If this was a quality opponent, Kentucky would have went down for the 4th time this year. Hope they figure it out soon or it will be a long season. They may just play up to their opponent also.
